Disability Support Services (DSS)

assists adult students with disabilities who request service and are enrolled or are planning to enroll in Academic & Career Technical Education (CTE) training programs. Our goal is to offer support services to students who request accommodations to ensure equal access to all training programs at each AFOC site.

Qualifying for the program:

To qualify for the program, students must request assistance and provide verification of their disability. Disabilities may include but are not limited to: physical disabilities, hearing impairments, and vision loss. Also served are students with learning and emotional disabilities, a history of substance abuse, and other disabling health conditions. Individuals who may qualify of services may include but are not limited to

  • Clients of California State Department of Rehabilitation
  • Persons receiving state, county, or social security income (SSI) based on disability
  • Persons who have job related disability and receive worker’s compensation
  • Students who have attended high school
